Personal Information

I have been working at the library since Dec. 1st, 1988. My first job was in circulation where I worked the desk and handled overdue notices and fines. After a year and a half I applied for the stacks maintenance position and have been working there since.

One of my great joys is arriving home from work to be met by four excited dogs, who are always happy to see me, and could care less how my day went since theirs is now perfect. At least after I feed them. And play with them. And scratch their various itches. And play with them. And scratch them. And as you can see, its a vicious circle. They are a very important part of my family and even go hiking and kayaking. Although I think kayaking is not their idea of a great way to spend the day. The motion of the kayak puts Tigger to sleep and Nikki keeps falling off the edge trying to catch the fish.

You can see my beauties below.

Nikki - He is our little foundling that no one claimed. I think he is a little angel that napped to close to the edge of a cloud (you know how slippery those silver linings can be) and rolled off. He has never gotten the hang of this dog thing yet.

Tigger - His head is made out of rubber, his tail is made out of springs. The wonderful thing about tiggers........ is.... he`s the only one. I could not afford the vet. bills (broken toes and mushroom poisoning) for two of them.

Sarah – She is the latest incarnation of a little free spirit that was last named Niska in a past life.  The purpose of this special being is to protect me, the yard and still keep all the naughty little furkids in line.  Sarah is the newest addition to the Hinckley pact.  She joined our family, broken leg and all, in March of 2002.

OK.  And why do I have to sit here?

IN MEMORY OF LOVE UNDYING

Strider (1983-1996)

My Cupcake, I still cry !

Niska  (1987-1999)

My Braveheart !

Natasha (1989–2005)

She was a Russian Contessa in a previous life. Mink, Ermine and Emeralds are her idea of appropriate attire. Pass the caviar please.

My sweet beauty, love forever faithful.

P.S.  Natasha survived being bitten on the muzzle march 2001 by a pit viper.  Her head swelled up to the size of a cantaloupe and I was very afraid I would lose her.  She has recovered with nothing more damaging than a long thin scar that makes her look like she has a pencil thin mustache on the left side of her face.  She is very vain about her appearance and will be greatly offended if you laugh at her new looks.
